A 9 year-old girl from an estate family resides in Deniyaya Sri Lanka has developed sudden onset severe abdominal pain. It was a continuous type of pain and associated with fever and vomiting. First she was admitted to a local hospital then transferred to Matara Hospital due to deteriorating conditions. Status of an “acute abdomen” was diagnosed at Matara Hospital. One of the surgeons worked there has taken these photographs while he was performing the emergency laparotomy.
